Baby It's A Shower!

Today I spent the afternoon at a friend's baby shower. I'm always that person at showers whose totally into the games and just the whole aspect of celebrating the baby. (By the way I totally dominated killed the shower games :D) I thought this would be a fun take on the traditional baby shower colors of blue and pink representing a baby girl and boy.

I used the Revlon smokey eye palette starting with the lightest color at the corner of my eye and using the darker on the lid and outer. Then I finished by using a vibrant blue and pink from my Kleankolors palette, lining then on the inner corners of my eye.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who does this lol so what occasions have you used to inspire your make up looks?

I'm Too Faced!

(pictured wearing Mood Swing)

Too Faced lip gloss titled Mood Swing, which is an emotionally activated lip gloss is one of my favorite glosses. It's definitely a fun product to play around with! I purchased this gloss at Sephora for about $20 one day out while shopping with a friend who wouldn't stop raving about it. The gloss comes out clear then gradually turns to your perfect shade of pink based on your mood.

I find this product fun not only for it's Transformer qualities that I'm sure even Optimus Prime would love, but because of the titles designated to the various shades pink it turns. In short the darker the pink (or warmer the body) means the more aroused you are. The darkest pink is titled "Hot and Bothered". This product is also a perfect indicator for oblivious boyfriends. ;)

Comes out clear!

Turns to your perfect shade of pink!

*Note
I love this gloss, because it looks perfect when applied and lasts for very long periods of time. Kisses and eating will not affect this gloss too severely. I would say this is just one of those glosses you don't need a mirror to apply, because you know it will look good regardless.

*Warning
When applying this gloss use a steady hand, because if it gets on the area around the mouth, it will turn that area pink.Try lining your lips or being careful to eliminate this possible problem.

Inside The Doll House

This is one of my favorite looks to date, which was phenomenally styled by Ashley Barlow. The team listed below recently shot this on a rainy Saturday morning in Amber's attic. Color blocking is an amazing trend this season, and this is one of my top ways I would like to see it styled. To achieve this look simply layer solid colors that have a cohesion over a simple white top. One of my favorite aspects about this look is how the shoes and accessories tie all of the colors together. Penny loafers and bright colors are my new vices!

What are your favorite trend this season?

Wood I use this?

bamboo powder brush

I'm really into wooden jewelry right now, as I find it very Eco conscious
(From top to bottom: wooden red "save the world bangle", wooden brown hugh bracelet, wooden black and brown bangle.) All of these are also flexible and stretch to fit anywhere on the arm.

On my journey to class yesterday I exited the Chicago Red Lin to be greeted by a woman passing out brushes. If only Mac or Sigma had sent out employees to occupy the same corner..(wishful thinking) haha! I've seen these Eco tool brushes around in drugstores, however I never took the initiative to purchase them fearing they would not be of good quality.

These are the softest brushes ever!

You can't judge a brush or product from the price or where it's found, which for me is a lesson learned reiterated. After playing around with this brush I've found it to be my new favorite powder bush! It's great for your setting powders and applies smooth and evenly. "Also 1% of EcoTools annual sales is donated to 1% For The Planet®, an alliance of businesses committed to leveraging their resources to create a healthier planet" (source from site)

You can find these products at:
Target
Walmart
Ulta (frequent Ulta shopper)

Over The Rainbow

Don't worry we're still in Kansas, and Toto lives to see another day! Gradient nails are my 'it' thing this summer. I let my idle mind wonder this past Saturday afternoon, and decided to do my nails. The night before I accompanied a friend to his prom (I'm a college freshman by the way) and the make up artist who did my look had GORGEOUS nails. She informed me that this was a gradient look and that she had done it at home with a sponge. I achieved this look by using an unused Timberland shoe cleaner sponge and random polishes found in my twin sister's room. I will be posting the step by step guide under the nails section shortly.

*By the way, this look is also great if your polishes have gone bad and gunky, because you sponge on the polish. Therefore it doesn't matter if it's smooth and even!

Hiya!

Hey guys! Personally I'm not into welcome pages, I love to just get straight into the content. (Yea I'm impulsive lol) However I feel it's necessary just to say a few words about the intent of my blog. I'm just a Doritos's loving optimist who adores all things beauty and fashion. I often get asked daily things about my make up, my natural hair, or just random things I wear. So hopefully at least one person finds the content here useful.

I love meeting new people so if there's a post you like or a product that you love leave me a comment and I'd love to check out your blog.

This blog will feature products I love dislike adore in addition to techniques I use on my nails, skin, and natural hair. And maybe some random things in between!
