MIA!

Hello Everyone! I haven't blogged in so long, and that's deeply bothering me! I've become so swamped with details concerning my clothing line, modeling, my summer job, and so many other projects. As my schedule calms down I hope to reconnect with my blog. I may even create a domain on Tumblr. I have sooo many new things to talk about, I totally look forward to it. Enjoy your week!

Rain rain... wreck my hair another day!

Those who live in Chicago, are aware of all the rain and hot humid days we have been experiencing. It has taken me years of experiencing to figure out products that would keep my hair manageable in extreme conditions. In high school on humid days I would arrive to school on a humid morning with big puffy and foofy hair, which would force me to wear a ponytail for the entire day. This also added to my envy of girls who had relaxers or naturally strait hair.

Relaxing my hair is personally not for me, therefore I went out on a search to find a product that would work on my natural hair.

One day exploring ULTA I came across the Pantene Pro V Medium to Thick collection, and I must say it has become my favorite product to combat humidity!

Pantene Pro V medium to thick Gel

Would I buy this product again? No
I applied this gel before I blow dried my hair and it left my hair feeling thick and greasy.

Pantene Pro V Medium to Thick Creme
Would I buy this product again? YES!
This product is amazing for combating frizz! I have naturally curly African American hair, and this product does wonders for keeping it smooth and strait. This product can be applies on wet or dry hair, however I only apply it when it is dry, when I know it will be a windy, humid, or rainy day.

Would I buy this product again? YES!

The spray is my favorite out of the medium to thick collection. Not only does it smell amazing, but it locks in moisture and keeps my hair from frizzing up when it is humid outside.

My first roller set on my own!

I finally attempted my first roller set on my natural hair! I only used water, rollers, setting spray, and my blow dryer. I think curly hair is a cute style for summer considering it helps lift the hair out of your face, in addition if you happen to sweat your roots out it's not even noticeable!

Tutorial coming soon :)

Close up on the eye I created that day! I used various oranges and deep pinks.

How To Eliminate Oily Skin In Heat

I'm hoping everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day! For those who also live in Chicago, you know how disgustingly hot the Holiday weekend turned out to be. Due to the fact that I don't like walking around with a face that could solve out nation's OIL CRISIS (lol) I sought out to find a product that could minimize the oil on my skin during the Summer months.

My type of skin
I have very dry skin in the winter months to the point where it can get flaky if I do not properly moisturize. In the summer months my t-zone tends to get very oily very easily.

Although I am personally in love with a dewey faced look I TRULY ADORE URBAN DECAY'S DE-SLICK MATTIFYING POWDER. This product is amazing, it makes my skin look fresh as if I have no oil on my face at all.

The product comes with a convenient pad to apply the product, however I just use my Eco tools powder brush.

Why I like LOVE this product
Not only does this product does what it says it's going to do, but the compact is one of the cutest Ive ever seen, the white powder goes clear on the skin, it works as a setting powder and won't ruin your make up, and the company DOES NOT test on animals!

What are your favorite summer products?

Baby It's A Shower!

Today I spent the afternoon at a friend's baby shower. I'm always that person at showers whose totally into the games and just the whole aspect of celebrating the baby. (By the way I totally dominated killed the shower games :D) I thought this would be a fun take on the traditional baby shower colors of blue and pink representing a baby girl and boy.

I used the Revlon smokey eye palette starting with the lightest color at the corner of my eye and using the darker on the lid and outer. Then I finished by using a vibrant blue and pink from my Kleankolors palette, lining then on the inner corners of my eye.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who does this lol so what occasions have you used to inspire your make up looks?

I'm Too Faced!

(pictured wearing Mood Swing)

Too Faced lip gloss titled Mood Swing, which is an emotionally activated lip gloss is one of my favorite glosses. It's definitely a fun product to play around with! I purchased this gloss at Sephora for about $20 one day out while shopping with a friend who wouldn't stop raving about it. The gloss comes out clear then gradually turns to your perfect shade of pink based on your mood.

I find this product fun not only for it's Transformer qualities that I'm sure even Optimus Prime would love, but because of the titles designated to the various shades pink it turns. In short the darker the pink (or warmer the body) means the more aroused you are. The darkest pink is titled "Hot and Bothered". This product is also a perfect indicator for oblivious boyfriends. ;)

Comes out clear!

Turns to your perfect shade of pink!

*Note
I love this gloss, because it looks perfect when applied and lasts for very long periods of time. Kisses and eating will not affect this gloss too severely. I would say this is just one of those glosses you don't need a mirror to apply, because you know it will look good regardless.

*Warning
When applying this gloss use a steady hand, because if it gets on the area around the mouth, it will turn that area pink.Try lining your lips or being careful to eliminate this possible problem.

Inside The Doll House

This is one of my favorite looks to date, which was phenomenally styled by Ashley Barlow. The team listed below recently shot this on a rainy Saturday morning in Amber's attic. Color blocking is an amazing trend this season, and this is one of my top ways I would like to see it styled. To achieve this look simply layer solid colors that have a cohesion over a simple white top. One of my favorite aspects about this look is how the shoes and accessories tie all of the colors together. Penny loafers and bright colors are my new vices!

What are your favorite trend this season?
